The fastest sedan in the world doesn't have a three or four-letter acronym, nor does it have a two-word name, and is a Dodge. The Charger Hellcat is, with its 707hp and 196 mph (300 kph) top speed, the fastest three-box sedan in the world, as of 2019. The 0-60 mph (0-96 kph) sprint is achieved in 3.9 seconds and the model deserved a better look. That's when the Widebody came.

The 2015 Dodge Charger has received two more powerful versions, named SRT and SRT Hellcat. Both were truly muscle cars in the disguise of a four-door sedan.

The upgraded version of the Charger SRT8 was revealed to the public in 2012.

While we do remember the 60’s 2-door muscle car, the new models kept the formula and enhanced the ride quality as much as possible with improved comfort and practicality.

DODGE Charger SRT

Gone was the muscle-car era, and Dodge had to focus on different customers to sell its Charger, and that made the carmaker transform the famous vehicle into a personal luxury coupe.

Dodge said the last farewell to the muscle-car era with the third generation of the Charger in 1971, before the CAFE rules and the insurance policies killed the movement.

Dodge built the 1969 Charger 500 to get the homologation and race in NASCAR, but it couldn't win the championship despite all the efforts.

Chrysler was losing ground in front of Ford on the NASCAR racetrack and ordered its engineers to do something about it, and the answer was the Charger Daytona.

First introduced in the early 60s, the Charger was Dodge’s choice of a fastback look with the already existing technology.

Chrysler unveiled the first generation of the Charger in January 1966, but the official sales started almost half a year later, in July, and things could have gone better than the automaker had hoped.
