BMW is celebrating 40 years of the M3 coupe by building 40 units of a special M4 Coupe M Legacy Edition. It's exclusive to Canada, at least for now.
The M Legacy Edition is available in both standard rear-wheel-drive and M4 Competition xDrive configurations. No performance modifications. The S58 twin-turbo inline-six is unchanged. What you get is visual differentiation and heritage paint.
Three colors are on offer: Laguna Seca Blue, Velvet Blue Metallic, and Imola Red II. Each has history in BMW's M lineup. Laguna Seca Blue debuted on the E46 M3, Imola Red traces back to the E36 generation, and Velvet Blue is a deeper cut from BMW Individual.
The Details
826M-style wheels in gold-bronze match the finish used on the M4 CS. Motorsport-style graphics appear on the hood and tailgate. Inside, every example gets black full Merino leather, a Nappa leather dashboard, carbon-fiber interior trim, and the M Alcantara steering wheel from the M4 CS and CSL.
The M Driver's Package is standard, removing the 250 km/h electronic limiter.
Pricing and Availability
The standard M4 M Legacy Edition starts at CAD$115,500 (roughly US$84,600). The M4 Competition variant reaches CAD$124,500 (US$91,200). First units arrive at Canadian dealerships in Q3 2026.
No US availability has been announced. BMW previously made the M340i 50 Jahre Edition a Canada exclusive before expanding it to limited US distribution within two weeks. The same pattern could repeat here, but 40 units doesn't leave much room for splitting across two markets.
