The YoY Decline Context
February's year-over-year drops look dramatic (BYD down 56.9%, Geely down 17.9%) but are partly explained by Chinese New Year timing effects. YTD through February, BYD sits at 182,873 units (down 55.0%) and Geely at 168,771 (down 20.0%).
Tesla's rebound is the standout: after falling out of the top 10 in January, a 106.7% month-over-month surge brought it back to third. Whether that momentum holds through Q2 depends on delivery cadence and new model availability in China.
