Chevrolet brought the Grand Sport name back to the Corvette at the 12 Hours of Sebring, and it's packing a new 6.7-liter V8.

The C8 Corvette Grand Sport debuted during a parade lap alongside previous Grand Sport generations. Under the rear clamshell sits the LS6, a 6.7-liter naturally aspirated V8 with both direct and port fuel injection. Chevrolet hasn't confirmed exact output, but the figure sits around 550 hp, slotting the Grand Sport neatly between the Stingray's 495 hp and the Z06's flat-plane 670 hp.

Widebody Standard

The Grand Sport adopts the widebody treatment from the Z06 and E-Ray, gaining wider fenders and a more aggressive stance. Visual cues include a sharper rear lip spoiler, a reshaped front splitter, and a carbon fiber center section in the front bumper that distinguishes it from every other C8 variant. The launch color is Admiral Blue with a black racing stripe and red accents on the rear haunches: a direct callback to Grand Sport tradition.

Black wheels reference the C7-generation Grand Sport, paired with red brake calipers. Four centrally mounted exhaust tips complete the rear view.

The Grand Sport X Question

Reports point to a "Grand Sport X" variant in development. The rumored spec: all-wheel drive via a front-mounted electric motor, combined output of 721 hp, and a hybrid powertrain that would make it the first electrified Corvette to carry the Grand Sport badge. Chevrolet hasn't confirmed or denied the X variant.

If the Grand Sport X materializes at 721 hp AWD, it would sit directly above the E-Ray's 655 hp eAWD system while delivering a different character. The E-Ray uses its front motor primarily for traction. A 721 hp Grand Sport X would presumably lean harder into outright performance.

Full official specifications, pricing, and configurator access are scheduled for March 26, 2026.
