Shangjie Z7 Pre-Sales at 229,800 Yuan: Huawei vs Xiaomi Begins

SAIC-Huawei brand prices Z7 coupe just 100 yuan below Xiaomi SU7. 800V, up to 905 km range, 582 hp dual-motor. First Huawei-Xiaomi head-to-head.

Shangjie Z7 Pre-Sales at 229,800 Yuan: Huawei vs Xiaomi Begins

Shangjie has opened pre-sales for the Z7 coupe sedan at 229,800 yuan ($33,280) and the Z7T shooting brake at 239,800 yuan. The pricing is surgical: the Z7's starting price is exactly 100 yuan lower than the updated Xiaomi SU7's pre-sales price of 229,900 yuan. That's not a coincidence. It's a declaration.

Shangjie is the fifth brand under Huawei's HIMA ecosystem, created in partnership with SAIC Motor. The Z7 is only its second model, following the H5 SUV, and it represents the first direct confrontation between Huawei and Xiaomi in the car market.

⚡ 800V Platform, Up to 905 km Range

Both the Z7 and Z7T run on Huawei's Whale 800-volt battery platform with 81 kWh or 100 kWh ternary lithium cells supplied by CATL. Under CLTC testing, the larger pack achieves up to 905 km of range.

The single-motor version produces 264 kW (354 hp). The dual-motor variant reaches 434 kW (582 hp). Both come standard with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 4.1 autonomous driving system and the 896-channel LiDAR that's now standard across the entire HIMA portfolio.

Xiaomi SU7: The Target on Its Back

The Xiaomi SU7 launched its second generation on March 19 at a starting price of 219,900 yuan, just 4,000 yuan more than the original. Xiaomi secured over 30,000 locked-in orders in the first wave and began deliveries today.

The Z7 needs to claw buyers away from that momentum. Huawei's advantage is its autonomous driving technology, widely regarded as the most capable system available in China's consumer EV market. Xiaomi's advantage is brand loyalty from its electronics ecosystem and aggressive pricing.

Beyond the Xiaomi matchup, the Z7 also competes with the Tesla Model 3 and XPeng P7. The Model 3 starts lower in China but lacks the autonomous driving features that Chinese buyers increasingly prioritize. The P7, recently updated with tiered chip options, occupies a similar price bracket.

Early orders include up to 11,000 yuan in purchasing benefits. Official launch prices, which in China are typically lower than pre-sales prices, have not been announced.
