Subaru is marking its 60,000th WRX delivery in Australia with a 75-unit special edition that comes in Sunrise Yellow, manual only, and with a rear wing that references the STI era.

The AWD Club Spec Evo builds on the WRX AWD tS Spec B platform. The turbocharged 2.4-liter boxer four produces 271 hp (202 kW) and 350 Nm through a six-speed manual gearbox and symmetrical all-wheel drive. No CVT option. No automatic. The transmission choice alone makes this the most interesting WRX variant Australia has received in recent memory.

What You Get

STI-tuned electronically controlled dampers handle the suspension work. Brembos sit behind 19-inch matte black alloy wheels with gold-finish brake calipers visible through the spokes. Quad exhaust tips exit at the rear, below a prominent rear wing that is exclusive to this edition.

Inside, Recaro sport bucket seats in Ultrasuede and leather-style material feature yellow perforations and stitching. A numbered Club Spec Evo badge and personalized plaque confirm which of the 75 you own.

The Sunrise Yellow paint previously appeared on the Australian BRZ tS Kiiro and the North American Series.Yellow models. Black and white decals on the rear doors complete the exterior treatment.

The Japan Gap

The Club Spec Evo is a cosmetic special edition on an existing platform. The powertrain is unchanged from the tS Spec B. For context, Japan received the 2025 WRX STI S210 with increased engine output, and the 2026 WRX STI Sport# with deeper STI Performance chassis upgrades. Australia gets yellow paint and Recaros.

At AU$63,190 (roughly US$45,100), the Club Spec Evo costs AU$1,000 more than the base tS Spec B, making it the most expensive WRX sedan in Australia. Whether the premium is worth it depends entirely on how much Sunrise Yellow and a numbered plaque mean to you. The 75-unit cap will likely answer that question quickly.
