Five months at the top of China's RMB 500,000 SUV segment, and buyers keep choosing up.

Zeekr 9X Hits 50,000 Deliveries With Average Transaction Price Above MSRP

Zeekr's 9X hybrid SUV crossed 50,000 cumulative deliveries on Thursday, the milestone announced by Geely's premium EV brand hours ahead of the Beijing Auto Show press days. Seven months into production, the full-size SUV holds the top sales position in China's RMB 500,000 large-SUV segment for five consecutive months.

The number worth examining is not the unit count but the average transaction price: RMB 530,000, or $77,600 at current exchange rates. That figure sits RMB 64,100 above the model's RMB 465,900 starting MSRP. In a market defined by relentless downward price pressure, buyers are consistently opting above the entry point. So far the experiment is working.

The 9X is built on Geely's SEA-S platform with a full-stack 900-volt high-voltage hybrid system. Top-specification variants use a three-motor megawatt electric drive layout delivering peak output of 1,030 kW (approximately 1,381 hp), enabling a 0-100 km/h time of 3.1 seconds. For a full-size family SUV, that figure requires serious powertrain engineering to remain honest under real-world conditions. The model also marks Zeekr's first foray into hybrid powertrains, a deliberate expansion from the brand's BEV origins toward a segment where Chinese luxury buyers have historically shown less price sensitivity.

Zeekr timed the announcement with intent. Beijing Auto Show press days open April 24, and the brand will use the occasion to unveil a refreshed 009 MPV at stand A102, Hall A1, at the Capital International Exhibition Convention Center. Zeekr also launched the 8X last week, a second hybrid SUV positioned below the 9X in price and size. Global versions of both models are in development, with overseas deliveries expected as early as Q3 2026, according to Geely Auto Group CEO Jerry Gan.
