The Porsche Cayenne Turbo Electric made its physical debut at Icons of Porsche 2025 in Dubai on November 21, following its earlier digital unveiling. Output: 850 kW (1,156 PS). Torque: 1,500 Nm. Those are hypercar numbers in an SUV body that Porsche tested on desert gradients exceeding 25 degrees at temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius.
Porsche Traction Management operates five times faster than conventional systems, which matters when individual wheels lose grip on sand at unpredictable intervals. Dual cooling plates per battery module handle thermal regulation in sustained heat. Direct oil cooling keeps the motors performing under repeated demands.
Off-Road Specification
Ground clearance rises to 245 mm at off-road ride height. Optional Porsche Active Ride suspension adapts to terrain changes. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus distributes power across all four wheels for stability on loose surfaces. VP of the Cayenne product line Michael Schätzle noted that "the Cayenne Electric drives like a much lighter vehicle" in the desert.
Since its 2002 launch, the Cayenne has needed to justify being both a Porsche and an SUV. The Turbo Electric does this with 1,156 PS on tarmac and 245 mm of ground clearance in the Rub al-Khali.
Energy consumption: 20.4-22.4 kWh/100 km (WLTP). CO2 emissions: 0 g/km. Class A.
