Luxeed has launched updated versions of its R7 coupe SUV and S7 sedan, just seven months after the previous refresh. Both models now come standard with Huawei's 896-channel image-grade LiDAR and the Qiankun ADS 4 autonomous driving system across all trims.
The S7 starts at 239,800 yuan ($34,800). The R7 starts at 259,800 yuan. Both prices represent a 10,000 yuan increase over their predecessors, effectively charging customers for the upgraded hardware.
⚡ Huawei's Fastest Iteration Cycle
Seven months between refreshes is aggressive even by Chinese EV standards, where the typical product cycle runs 12-18 months. Luxeed, the joint venture between Huawei and Chery Automobile, is clearly prioritizing technology updates over traditional model-year cadences. The 896-channel LiDAR is Huawei's latest mass-production sensor, a significant jump from the previous generation that equips multiple vehicles across the Huawei HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance) ecosystem.
New orange and purple exterior colors target younger buyers. It's a cosmetic addition, but in China's EV market, where showroom traffic skews heavily toward buyers under 35, color palette matters more than most Western analysts expect.
V9 MPV Coming in Late April
At the same event, Huawei reintroduced the Luxeed V9, the brand's flagship MPV and the first multi-purpose vehicle under the HIMA umbrella. The V9 uses Huawei's Xuexiao smart extended-range system for a combined range exceeding 1,250 km. Active rear-wheel steering and dual-chamber air suspension handle the dynamics of what is a full-size people carrier.
Display cars will arrive at stores nationwide in late April, according to Huawei consumer business group CEO He Gang.
Luxeed's broader plan is ambitious: an annual sales target of 1 million units by 2030. The brand also plans to unveil a right-hand drive V9 in the second half of 2026, marking its first step into international markets.
